The Exorcist house/steps
Each time i visit Washington DC i take time out to go see the house and the steps that were used during the filming. The movie has had a grip on me since i first saw it and has never lost its impact.
Walking along M Street takes a good 45 minutes before you get to the bottom of the legendary steps. The street is lined with art galleries, boutiques & cafes to keep you entertained.
Joggers use the steps constantly for their fitness regimes but just walking up once saps your legs.
The house is at the top to the left which is on 3600 Prospect Street and for the film set an extension had to be built onto the side to make it nearer the steps.
A short walk away is the Georgetown University where more filming was undertaken. Healy Hall is the historic flagship building at the main campus and is a National Historic Landmark.
The closest Metrorail station is Foggy Bottom.
